Salt spray test chamber maintenance knowledge

The following items must be checked before each test.
- Salt spray uniformity: The uniformity of the salt spray distribution must be verified before each test.
- Solution concentration and pH: The solution concentration and pH must be verified before each test (ASTM B117 recommends a procedure for testing pH).
- Chamber cleaning: The chamber must be cleaned before each test. Seawater and warm water are recommended to avoid damaging the chamber.
Maintenance is performed every 1000 hours.
The G salt spray test chamber has a built-in routine maintenance timer. This timer will alert the user when maintenance is required. Every 999 hours of operation, the LED alarm will display the message “Perform routine maintenance.” After maintenance is completed, press the Clear key and then the Enter key to reset the routine maintenance timer. The user cannot disable the routine maintenance timer.
The following items must be inspected every 1000 hours:
Peristaltic pump tubing: Check for leaks and wear, and replace if necessary.
Bubble column: Drain and replace water.
Water filter: Remove and clean the filter screen.
Electrolyte filter: Remove and clean the filter screen.
Case: Remove salt deposits, especially those on the heater.
Steam generator: Drain and replace water.
Deionized water: Check for purity and pH neutrality.
Blower filter: Clean the filter screen with a vacuum cleaner or compressed air.
Compressed air filter: Replace if necessary.
Maintenance every 6 months
Check the chamber lid latch for any need for adjustment. The lid seal rubber loses its elasticity over time. If necessary, adjust the lid latch using the wrench in the maintenance parts kit.
Calibrate the thermometer every 6 months.
