Function:
This test equipment simulates the corrosion test in artificial environment, and is used to test the quality of metal materials with or without anti-corrosion protection; it is suitable for rapid analysis of organic and inorganic coatings in anti-corrosion tests for discontinuities, holes and damage, etc. In addition, for the purpose of quality control, it can be compared between samples coated with the same coating; salt spray test is particularly suitable for detecting discontinuities such as pinholes and other defects in certain metals, organic, anodic oxidation and conversion coatings; among them
1. Neutral salt spray test (NSS) is applicable to (metals and their alloys, metal coatings (anode and cathode), conversion coatings, anodic oxidation coatings, organic coatings on metal materials);
2. Acetic acid salt spray test (AASS) is particularly suitable for testing copper + nickel + chromium, or nickel + chromium decorative coatings; it is also found to be suitable for testing aluminum anodic coatings;
3. Copper accelerated acetic acid salt spray test (CASS) is applicable to testing copper + nickel + chromium, or nickel + chromium decorative coatings; it is also found to be suitable for testing aluminum anodic coatings; It is suitable for testing the anodic coating of aluminum;
Note: Since there are many factors affecting the corrosion process, such as the formation of protective films, which vary greatly with the different conditions encountered, there is rarely a direct relationship between the resistance to salt spray and the resistance to other media; therefore, the test results obtained cannot be used as a direct guide to the corrosion resistance of the tested metal materials in all possible environments. Similarly, the performance of different materials in the test cannot be used as a direct guide to the corrosion resistance of these materials in use.
